SINCE DROPPING HIS new release Sweet Melody a couple days ago, local artiste Philip K said the response has been overwhelming.

The 30-year old told Barbados Weekly that he does not limit his music to any genre and would only categorise it as inspirational and a reflection of his walk with God. “The response has been so heartwarming and encouraging,” he said. “The support from those who have walked on this musical Journey with me as well as those who are now joining me, has been overwhelming.”

A Christian by belief and living, he said the song was written about a year ago when he was in the studio. “[It] was written from the perspective of the producer, that being Jesus, creating a beautiful song from our life which is a Sweet Melody.”

He further explained that God does not only factor into his music but every aspect of his life. He described his walk with God as, “I like to view it as a really close Father-Son, relationship. He leads me and I see His example and try to walk in His footsteps. And of course, with any father-son relationship, there is correction and guidance. However, because we are close, I view that correction as a part of his unfailing love toward me, therefore, I choose not to rebel or reject that correction.”

The track was created and produced in Middle Room Studio and is available on all streaming platforms. “I am not touring…yet, but when given the opportunity, my mission is to spread the love of Jesus through the gift he has blessed me with,” he said.
